Villa Emo alla Rivella – Majestic sixteenth-century Venetian noble residence for sale in the thermal paradise of the “Parco dei Colli Euganei” among tall trees, orchards, Italian gardens, large floral varieties, fishponds, Fly-in area and pool.
History, art, prestige and refinement, thermal waters and navigation canals, plains and hills that meet and surround us, this is Villa Emo Capodilista alla Rivella, a Renaissance architectural jewel.
We offer for sale a luxurious Palladian-style villa with barchessa and outbuilding, in a private park of about four hectares between the ancient Bisatto canal and the Euganean Hills.
We are precisely in the municipality of Monselice, which dominates the surrounding plain with its famous fortress in the province of Padua, reachable in a few minutes by car, only forty-five minutes from Venice with its lagoon and international airport, forty minutes from Ferrara, ninety minutes from Lake Garda and about two and a half hours from Cortina d'Ampezzo.
The property dates back to 1588 and is attributed to the famous architect Vincenzo Scamozzi one of the three most illustrious architects of the late 500s to have worked in close contact with Palladio and who completed some important works after his death. The villa was conceived as a country residence for the Venetian nobility who, at that time, after the construction of the navigable canals, made these places easily reachable from nearby Venice and ideal for long summer stays which combined control of agricultural activities with the pleasure of more ventilated climate thanks to the breezes descending from the nearby hills.
Over time there have been several changes of ownership until the current family, who have already owned it since 1871, decided in 1966 to carry out a profound restructuring and redevelopment of the estate and the buildings inside it to create their own residence, creating this refined and luxurious home where you can live peacefully surrounded by nature and with large spaces where you can receive guests or retire to study and beloved reading.
The stupendous Italian gardens were created, the fishponds now full of water lilies were recovered, rose gardens of every species and color were created, the driveway bordered by poplars which continues along a pond embellished with various botanical species, leading us to another avenue bordered by large magnolias. At the back of the villa there is a large rectangular lawn, on the sides of which two long and colorful borders of perennial plants catch the eye, the many floral essences and the orchard (typical orchard present in Venetian villas) last but not least the presence, of a beautiful gallery of hornbeams, which provides excellent refuge from the sun on summer afternoons along with a large swimming pool where you can take a relaxing dip.
The property, as well as a luxurious private residence, is also well suited for tourist accommodation as it is in a strategic position within one of the most renowned spa areas in Italy and having the possibility of drawing directly from the wells present inside (subject to regional authorisation) to geothermal waters which in the past were already conceived to heat all environments in a natural way.
The main villa has an area of approximately 1,100 m2 (11.840,30 sq.f) developed on three levels, it has a square scaped plan and with its large cubic-shaped volumes adorned by the stupendous scenographic facade with four columns, it has access from the external stairs to both the ground floor and the main floor, while the second floor can only be accessed from the internal stairs or from the lift connecting all floors.
- on the ground floor there is a large living room, two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, the laundry room, the kitchen with pantry, as well as three other bedrooms with bathrooms and a small service bathroom;
- on the first floor there is a large reception hall frescoed with rural scenes (works attributed to Paolo Cagliari known as il Veronese), the portico, two frescoed lounges, the dining room, the library, a bathroom, two corridors and a closet;

It has a rectangular plan with the characteristic arched portico and is composed as follows:

- on the first floor two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and technical rooms;
- on the second floor which is a bedroom with en-suite bathroom, utility room and wardrobe.
The outbuilding (created to house the servants who accompanied the illustrious guests who have always stayed at Villa Emo over the years) has an area of approximately 780 m2 (8.395,85 sq.f)
developed on two levels, it is also located next to the manor house but in a more detached position, inside there are service quarters and the large library. It is composed as follows:
- on the ground floor a large library in the center of the building with access from both the outside and inside, two corridors with access stairs to the upper floor, one on each side and the storage rooms/warehouses in the rear;
- on the first floor, to be restored, eight bedrooms, two kitchens and three bathrooms.
The property has four external accesses and is well connected to both local and motorway traffic. In six minutes by car you can reach the splendid fields of the "Golf Club Padova" just as in a few minutes you can reach the renowned and numerous cellars of the Euganean Hills and all the essential services, in the center of nearby Monselice or Battaglia Terme.
